Meet Our Management Team

 

Rod Marlin - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Marlin was the President, CEO and a Director of Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from 1995 until that company’s acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009. Following the completion of that acquisition, Mr. Marlin provided consulting services to Clean Harbors, Inc. until July 2010. Mr. Marlin now sits on the board of directors of Clean Harbors, Inc., a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange that provides environmental, energy and industrial services throughout North America and in several international locations. Eveready Inc. (now Clean Harbors Industrial Services Canada Inc.) provides industrial maintenance and oilfield production services to the energy, resource and industrial sectors. Prior to its acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009, the common shares of Eveready Inc. were listed for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Marlin was also the founder and President of Marlin Travel Group from its inception in 1967 to its sale in 1993.

 

John Stevens – President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Stevens was the Interim CEO of G.L.M. Industries L.P. from November 2010 until March 2011 and CFO of that company from April 2010 until January 2011. Prior thereto, Mr. Stevens was the President and a Director of NC Services Group Ltd. from May 2007 until October 2009 and CEO of that company from November 2008 until October 2009. Mr. Stevens was the Senior Vice President of Eveready Inc. from August 2006 until May 2007 and the CFO of Eveready Inc. from September 2002 until May 2007. Mr. Stevens has held various accounting positions, including CFO, of Nilsson Bros. Inc., a meat packing, livestock and food processing company, from 1990 to 2002. Mr. Stevens received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1989 and has been a member of the Society of Management Accountants since 1993.

 

Jason Vandenberg - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Vandenberg was the CFO of Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from June 2008 until that company’s acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009. Following the completion of that acquisition, Mr. Vandenberg provided consulting services to Clean Harbors, Inc. until November 2009. From May 2010 until June 2011, he was the Vice President, Finance with Afexa Life Sciences Inc., a life sciences company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Prior to June 2008, he was Vice President, Finance of Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from August 2006 to June 2008 and the Corporate Financial Reporting Manager for Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from April 2005 until August 2006. Prior to this, Mr. Vandenberg spent six years as an accountant with the national chartered accounting firm of Grant Thornton LLP. Mr. Vandenberg received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2000 and the designation of Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 2002.

 

Glen Fleming – Executive Vice President Operations

Mr. Fleming has been the founder of a variety of companies throughout the industry and worked with these companies building corporate structures from the ground level and maximizing potential through quality of work, customer service and creative problem solving solutions. Most recently Mr. Fleming held the position of General Manager of Northern Operations with Eveready Industrial Services Corp from 2002 to 2008 when he then accepted the position of Vice President and later Chief Operating Officer with Eveready Energy. In 2009 he accepted the position of Executive Vice President with Clean Harbors Corporation, post Eveready acquisition, working primarily on integrating operations until 2010. Glen joined ENTREC in 2011.

 

Joe Kapusin - Vice President Sales & Estimating

Mr. Kapusin offers more than a decade of sales and account management experience in Western Canada’s natural gas compression and process industry. With a sales-driven strategic approach to business, Joe’s strengths include developing key relationships with customers, closing complex long-term sales cycles, improving company processes, and steering initiatives forward to meet company objectives. Joe is a consistent top performer with a proven track record of achieving challenging revenue targets during his 9 year tenure at Enerflex Systems Ltd. in his account management role. Joe’s current mandate with ENTREC is restructure the internal company sales processes to align with corporate business objectives, to build corporate marketing and branding to meet the new ENTREC and to increase revenue and gain market share in Western Canada.

 

Alan Swagerman - Executive Vice President Crane Services

Mr. Swagerman began his career in the crane industry in 1985 at Irving Equipment, based in Atlantic Canada, advancing to the position of General Manager, which he held until 2001. Alan relocated to Western Canada to join Sterling Crane, headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta where he attained the position of Vice President. Alan received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1991 and is a registered Professional Engineer in New Brunswick and Alberta. Mr. Swagerman is a past director of the Crane Rental Association of Ontario, a past Chairman and current Director of the Crane Rental Association of Canada. Alan joined the Mains Group as President in 2011.

 

John Hudson - VP Safety, Training and Risk Management

Mr. Hudson has a wide range of experience in applying creative ways to address safety and training challenges in organizations. In 2011/12 Mr. Hudson was the CEO of DETAC Corporation, a consulting company specializing in building operational and safety competency programs for organizations. Prior to DETAC, John was the VP of HSE & Risk Management for Peak Energy Services from 2005 to 2011 after joining that organization in 2000 as the Corporate HSE Manager. Mr. Hudson held a variety of engineering, information systems, safety, and training roles with TransAlta Utilities from 1980-2000. John received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1980 from the University of New Brunswick and has been a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta since 1982. Mr. Hudson is the past Chair of the Job Safety Skills Society, promoting safety education in Alberta’s high schools.

 

Chris Good - Executive Vice President, Business Development & Marketing

Mr. Good brings over 20 years of international & domestic Oil & Gas experience to the organization. Most recently Mr. Good held the position of Senior Vice President of Sales for the Energy & Industrial pillar of Clean Harbors, and was a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team since April 2010. Prior to this he was the Vice President of Operations over Industrial Specialty Services at Clean Harbors from August 2008 until April 2010. Mr. Good joined Clean Harbors as part of the acquisition of Eveready Energy Services where he was the Business Development Manager for the organization from April 2008 to August 2009. Mr. Good was a founder and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Innovative Coke Expulsion (ICE) which was acquired by Eveready Energy Services in 2005.

Peter Lacey - Director

Mr. Lacey has been the President, CEO and a Director of Cervus Equipment Corporation and its predecessor companies since 1998. Cervus Equipment Corporation is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange that owns and manages a number of authorized John Deere, Bobcat, JCB and material handling equipment dealers in Western Canada. Mr. Lacey has also been the President, CEO and a trustee of Proventure Income Fund, a public real estate investment trust listed on the Exchange, since November 2005. Mr. Lacey was a Director and Chairman of the Board of Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from March 2005 until its acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009.

 

Chris Porter - Director

Mr. Porter has been Regional Vice President, Energy & Industrial Services of Clean Harbors, Inc. since July 2009. Prior thereto, Mr. Porter was the Director, Corporate Development of Eveready Inc. (now Clean Harbors Industrial Services Canada Inc.) and its predecessor companies, from April 2006 until the acquisition of that company by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009. Prior thereto, except for the period from July 2005 to September 2005 where Mr. Porter was employed with Stantec Inc. as a Senior Financial Analyst, Mr. Porter spent three years as an accountant with the national chartered accounting firm of Grant Thornton LLP. Mr. Porter received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2003 and the designation of Chartered Accountant.

Joe Brennan - Secretary and Director

Mr. Brennan is a partner with the law firm of Shea Nerland Calnan LLP. He has been a lawyer with that firm since 1997 and a partner since 2007. Mr. Brennan’s practice has focused primarily on securities law and he has advised numerous private and public companies in that capacity. Mr. Brennan received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta in 1996 and was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1997 3.



 

Charles (Chuck) Sanders, Director, Chief Financial Officer JV Driver Group

Chuck Sanders has held the post of Chief Financial Officer with JV Driver Group since 2008, and previously held the position of Corporate Accountant with JV Driver Group. Prior to joining the JV Driver Team, Chuck was with the firm of Hill and Partners Chartered Accountants and was part of the audit team for the JV Driver Group as well as various other clientele of the firm in the construction, banking and forestry sectors. Chuck is an experienced senior executive in the construction industry and has extensive financial and industry experience. Chuck holds the designation of Certified General Accountant, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree as well as a Business Administration Diploma. Chuck has also completed extensive Mergers and Acquisition training from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Carolyn Mains - Director

Carolyn Mains assumed the role of Chairperson for the Mains Group in 2010. With long experience in the Crane and Heavy Haul industry Carolyn brings her expertise and passion for the people of the Mains Group to the ENTREC board of Directors to aid in the transition of the Mains Group and contribute to ENTREC'S future success




 

Brian Tod - Director

Mr. Tod is a business lawyer, and acts as counsel to the Edmonton office of Miller Thomson LLP, Barristers and Solicitors (a national law firm). He has held this role since July 1, 2011 after retiring from the partnership of that firm. Prior to retiring from the partnership, Mr. Tod had been with Miller Thomson LLP and its predecessor in Edmonton, Alberta since 1971. Mr. Tod's legal practice has focused in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate / commercial law, contracts, contract negotiation and commercial real estate.
