Rod Marlin - Executive Chairman
Rod was the President, CEO and a Director of Eveready Inc. - a Toronto Stock Exchange listed company which provided industrial maintenance and oilfield production services to the energy, resource and industrial sectors throughout North America - - and its predecessor companies from 1995 until that company’s acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009. Following the completion of that acquisition, Rod provided consulting services to Clean Harbors, Inc. until July 2010, and continues to sit on their board of directors. Clean Harbors, Inc. is a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange that provides environmental, energy and industrial services throughout North America and in several international locations. Rod was also the founder and President of Marlin Travel Group from its inception in 1967 to its sale in 1993 – at which point it was Canada’s largest travel company.
Peter Lacey - Director
Peter has been the President, CEO and a Director of Cervus Equipment Corporation and its predecessor companies since 1998. Cervus Equipment Corporation is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange that owns and manages several authorized John Deere, Bobcat, JCB and material handling equipment dealers in Western Canada. Peter has also been the President, CEO and a trustee of Proventure Income Fund, a public real estate investment trust listed on the Exchange, since November 2005. Peter was also Director and Chairman of the Board of Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from March 2005 until its acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. in July 2009.
Dwayne Hunka - Director
Mr. Hunka is the President of DHI Group Inc. and Hunka Capital Corporation. Prior thereto, Mr. Hunka was the Vice President Business Development for JV Driver Projects Inc., a provider of industrial construction services to the oil and gas, energy, petrochemical, forestry, and mining sectors based in Edmonton, Alberta. Mr. Hunka accumulated over 30 years of management experience in the fabrication and manufacturing sectors including as Co-owner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Waiward Steel Fabricators Ltd., Waiward Management Inc., Co-owner and President of M&D Drafting Ltd., M&D Ventures Inc., Six Pointe Properties Inc., Mainline Backflow Products Inc, all based in Edmonton, Alberta. Mr Hunka previously sat on the board with RS Technologies Inc. a composite power pole manufacturer doing business globally. He is also currently a Workforce Advisory Council Member for Norquest College, a community college in Edmonton, Alberta, and is an advisor to other up and coming small businesses.
Mark Maybank - Director
Mr. Maybank is an active private investor, director, advisor and entrepreneur associated with a variety of private companies. He was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Canaccord Genuity Corp., an investment banking company, from 2006 until 2011. He joined Canaccord in 2001 and was responsible for its research activity. Before joining Canaccord, Mr. Maybank was an Executive Vice-President at a technology services and software development firm. Before that, he was a Technology Analyst with Yorkton Securities, an investment banking company, and Chief Financial Officer of a US based cellular services company. Before that, he held various positions with a large multi-national accounting and consulting firm. Mr. Maybank has earned both his Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator designations.
Charles (Chuck) Sanders - Director
Chuck Sanders has held the post of Chief Financial Officer with JV Driver Group – a multi-disciplined industrial construction, turnaround and maintenance company with operations in Canada and the U.S. - since 2008, and previously held the position of Corporate Accountant with that organization. Prior to joining the JV Driver team, Chuck was with the firm of Hill and Partners Chartered Accountants, and was part of the audit team for the JV Driver Group as well as various other clients of the firm in the construction, banking and forestry sectors. Chuck is an experienced senior executive in the construction industry, and also has extensive financial and industry experience. Chuck holds the designation of Certified General Accountant, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree as well as a Business Administration Diploma – and has also completed extensive Mergers and Acquisition training from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
John Stevens - President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
John was the Interim CEO of G.L.M. Industries L.P. - an Alberta based company which specializes in the fabrication of storage tanks of pressure vessels, and supplies the global marketplace - from November 2010 until March 2011, and CFO of that company from April 2010 until January 2011. Before that, John was the President and a Director of NC Services Group Ltd. – a private crane and specialized hauling company operating in western Canada and the U.S. - from May 2007 until October 2009, and CEO of that company from November 2008 until October 2009. John was also the Senior Vice President of Eveready Inc. from August 2006 until May 2007 and the CFO of Eveready Inc. from September 2002 until May 2007. John has held various senior accounting positions, including CFO, while at Nilsson Bros. Inc. - a private meat packing, livestock and food processing company - from 1990 to 2002. Mr. Stevens received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1989 and has been a member of the Society of Management Accountants since 1993.
Don Goodwill - Director
Mr. Goodwill holds the position of President with Manitoulin Transport – a Canadian transportation company providing expedited less-than-truckload, truckload, intermodal, and private fleet services through its network of 74 Canadian terminal locations. Mr. Goodwill first joined Manitoulin Transport in September 1991 holding several successive positions, becoming Vice President Operations in January 2006 and then assuming the role of President in July 2012. Prior to joining Manitoulin, Mr. Goodwill held various service and sales management positions in the farm equipment industry with Massey Ferguson, Coop Implements and the Gehl Company. Mr. Goodwill has been one of our Directors since November 23, 2015.
Brian Tod - Director
Brian is a business lawyer, and acts as counsel to the Edmonton office of Miller Thomson LLP, Barristers and Solicitors - a national law firm. He has held this role since July, 2011 after retiring from the partnership of that firm. Prior to his retirement from the partnership, Brian had been with Miller Thomson LLP and its predecessor in Edmonton, Alberta since 1971. Brian's legal practice has focused in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate / commercial law, contracts, contract negotiation and commercial real estate.
